Community charity in formation
Helping Coronado kids return to the water with confidence by funding youth ocean-safety gear, local lifeguard connection, and beach days that keep grom culture alive.
CBG empowers Coronado's next generation of groms to return to the beach with confidence. By partnering with the Coronado Beach Lifeguard Agency, the Coronado Junior Lifeguard Association, and local ocean-safety programs, CBG raises funds and builds community around year-round youth ocean safety.
Focused on youth ages 2-18 in Coronado, California, with a lean launch model and a clear priority: get resources onto the beach.
Coronado is built around the ocean, but chronic closures and water-quality concerns have pulled families away from the coastline. CBG is not a lobbying organization and is not trying to solve the pollution crisis directly. It is focused on what the community can control: equipment, confidence, safety education, and a culture that keeps kids connected to the water.
CBG's early public reporting will track cost per youth served, equipment donated per dollar raised, Junior Lifeguard enrollment trends, program efficiency, and community event attendance.
A tangible entry point: help put essential water gear on a young beach kid.
Support a Junior Lifeguard season through the Sponsor a Grom program.
Fund a beach accessibility wheelchair so more children can reach the ocean.
The event model starts with low-cost community gatherings, then grows into recurring giving, crowdfunding, races, and a future Beach Ball gala.
Community meetups where kids and parents connect directly with local lifeguards.
Sunset beach events with practical ocean-safety education for families.
A high-visibility December tradition tied to a simple year-end campaign.
Annual support tiers for local families and businesses that want recurring impact.
A fall beach event inspired by the physical standard used by Coronado lifeguards.
A future formal fundraiser with tuxedos on top and boardshorts on bottom.
CBG's revenue model is deliberately phased: direct donations, community events, branded merchandise, local business collaborations, corporate partnerships, and future major-gift moments as the charity matures.
Early net funds beyond operating costs are intended for Junior Lifeguard equipment such as fins, rashguards, rescue buoys, paddleboards, snorkel gear, tents, and safety supplies.
Until CBG receives its IRS determination letter, early supporters should be told clearly that tax-deductible receipts are not yet available.
Coronado Beach Grom is presented here as a community charity in formation with 501(c)(3) filing in progress. Donation processing, tax acknowledgment language, privacy policy, permits, insurance, and seller's permit details should be finalized before this page is used for live fundraising.
